Out for a walk

For all of our single-seasoned friends, this is what a fall walk looks like in our neighborhood...



 

Nylaism

It is officially Fall here and Nyla is as busy as ever. She is enjoying playing with "BABY!" (doll) and teaching her to eat, wear a diaper, go for a ride in the stroller, etc. We discovered that a great way to get Nyla to eat is for her and Baby to take turns taking a bite. She even ate a good serving of broccoli this way. She is now obsessed with "TWO!" and wants double everything. She loves to point out two socks, shoes, treats, etc. She has been sick this last week but is now getting back to her normal, healthy, happy, self. During a particularly difficult night she had a nice little vomit session on the bedroom floor. But, in typical Nyla style she recovered very quickly. Upon returning from getting a clean set of PJs I found Nyla looking up with a big grin on her face and excitedly proclaiming, "TWO! TWO!" At her feet lay two, perfectly intact, regurgitated pieces of broccoli. That's our girl, always able to find the positive in the world.

Hello, this is Nyla?

Well, I don't think we have Miss Congenialty on our hands, but she sure is cute.

Back from the Hiatus

Ok, we're back after a taking time off to chase Ms. Nyla around for a few weeks. Nyla is a whole new energetic little ball lately. She is talking a mile a minute and every once in awhile you hear a word you can recognize. Her new favorite word is "BUCK!" for buckle - which can also mean snap, zip or button - and she loves to demand that you "BUCK" her sweater or your own. Our sweet girl has become very opinionated, especially with getting dressed. Here are a few of her latest creations --

Out for a game of tennis maybe? She is wearing her swimsuit, t-shirt and Gap hat.

Nyla was so excited when her new shirts arrived in the mail that she had to put on all four of them at once. Yes, Mama is a smart shopper and buys end-of-season deals from Old Navy.

A big favorite is to mismatch the socks or shoes. She is also wearing her favorite jacket which she often refuses to take off.
















I think her dad had something to do with this one. Thank goodness she decided to ditch the high heels.

When not creating a fabulous outfit from her wardrobe, Nyla enjoys just being naked. Pretty much all of the time she wants to be naked. She also loves to ride her new trike. Great combo...

Another favorite activity is taking a nice soak in the sink. I don't know how this became a favorite game, but once she discovered how nicely she fit in that sink she didn't want to be anywhere else.

And of course, she looooooves a good game of Peek-a-Boo (aka "BOO!").
