A few of my favorite things...

At 10 months Nyla is very opinionated. We are preparing for another big trip down to Northern California to visit family, celebrate Grandpa Jerdog's retirement, and Cousin Max's wedding. Before we load all the new pictures from our trip, here is a review of some of Nyla's favorite things to do (other than using her new communication skills of signing -- ball, milk, water -- and new words)...

9 months in review

Well, we haven't been able to post much since the last time because we've been too busy chasing Nyla around the house and up the stairs. We've all lost several pounds this month. Nyla will celebrate her 10 month birthday on Cinco de Mayo -- WOW. She is now signing "Milk" all night and day, and loves to go out and look at all the cats (now "tat") including dog-cats, squirrel-cats, etc. Marlie and Brodie are, of course, the greatest objects of her obsession. She's added "dadda" and "hi" to her vocabulary. She is also now pointing, which makes for a great game of her leading us around the house all day. We think she has a future in dancing (which is extra spectacular when she pairs it with the pointing) and sports, since she is already playing catch. Here are a few pictures from the month...







Standing up is a new favorite activity. The cats think this gate was put up so they could eat in peace. Nyla thinks it was so she could watch them hurdle the gate several times a day.










Grandma and Grandpa Johnson came for a visit over Easter. It was during a cold spell in Portland, but that didn't slow us down!
